The name "Long Dai" pays homage to the sacred Mount Dai, emphasizing the deep connection between the wine and its Chinese heritage. This wine embodies a fusion of French winemaking expertise and the rich cultural tapestry of China, representing a new era in the global wine landscape.

Domaine de Long Dai, part of the Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), is located in the Qiu Shan Valley of Shandong Province, China, and was established in 2008. The vineyard spans over 40 hectares with 600 terraces, focusing on grape varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Marselan, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. Utilizing traditional Bordeaux winemaking methods, the estate produces wines such as Long Dai and the recently introduced Hu Yue, both reflecting the unique terroir. Committed to sustainability, Domaine de Long Dai integrates into the local ecosystem and holds LEED Gold Certification.

 

Tasting Notes:
The Long Dai 2020 offers a complex bouquet of black fruits, complemented by subtle floral notes and a hint of spice. On the palate, it delivers a rich and velvety texture with well-integrated tannins, leading to a long, satisfying finish. This wine beautifully balances power and finesse, making it a perfect companion for a variety of dishes.

 

Composition:
This vintage is a blend of classic Bordeaux varietals, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, alongside the innovative Marselan and Syrah. These grape varieties are meticulously sourced from the estate’s terraced vineyards, allowing for optimal expression of the local terroir.

 

Winemaking:
The Long Dai 2020 has been aged in French oak barrels for 12 months, enhancing its complexity and depth. The careful selection of plots within the estate’s 400 terraces ensures that only the finest grapes contribute to this remarkable wine.
